As I step into this role, I want to keep making room for other people to grow, lead, and do work they are proud of.
A moment to appreciate
I've been promoted to Director of Cloud Services at Coalfire. I'm proud of this next step and grateful for the colleagues, mentors, and customers who have helped me grow along the way.
Since joining Coalfire in April 2025, my work has brought together the things I care about most: developing technical people, helping customers work through difficult decisions, and building secure cloud environments. Those priorities continue into this new chapter.
What I want to carry forward
Technical depth still matters to me. I want to stay close enough to the work to understand the questions our teams are facing and help them reason through the tradeoffs. I also want to give people the space to develop their own judgment and take ownership.
That means making time for the everyday work of leadership: giving useful feedback, listening when someone needs support, and finding opportunities for people to stretch. It means keeping the customer's goals visible as work moves from discovery into delivery.
What this means for Elite Impulse
Elite Impulse is where I share ideas about technology and the people doing the work. As I grow in this role, I want to make those ideas more useful: practical questions, lessons, and resources that another leader or architect can take into their next conversation.
Alongside this note, I've added a customer workshop preparation checklist. It is a simple place to start: help an architect prepare, give them room to lead, and turn the debrief into their next development opportunity.
Thank you to the people who have challenged me, encouraged me, and trusted me with greater responsibility. I'm looking forward to the work ahead.
Put the idea into motion.
